Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do you do home visits?
Yes!
What does NEUBIE stand for?
Neuro-Bio-Electric Stimulator.
How is the NEUBIE device different from traditional e-stim devices?
Simply put, it takes an opposite approach to conventional e-stim devices. The NEUBIE is a direct current device (DC) whereas most traditional e-stim devices use alternating currents (AC). Our nervous system is designed like a direct current device, so this form of current is mimicking the current your body already uses, thereby, increasing effectiveness and timeliness of healing and recovery.
How long is the first session and what will we do?
Your first appointment will be your longest visit because it will include an evaluation and explanation of your recommended treatment plan. It will last approximately 1.5 hours.
What will I feel after a treatment session using the NEUBIE?
You may experience soreness that is caused by activating muscles that have been weakened or damaged over time. This is a normal part of recovery after using a device such as the NEUBIE and will subside within a few days.
How long are subsequent sessions?
Each following session will be approximately 1 hour in length.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of treatments you may need with the NEUBIE all depends on your current condition and goals, however many people see gains after the first session. No matter what, our goal is to have you reach and even exceed your fitness and wellness goals.
Do you take insurance?
Not at this time.
Do you work with children?
Absolutely!
What should I wear to a session?
For the initial session, you need to consider what part of the body is being treated and wear clothing that is accessible to that region of your body. For the treatment sessions, wear clothes and shoes that you would typically wear to the gym
How long will it take before I start to see gains?
This depends on many factors as well as your diagnosis, but remaining consistent is key. It’s important for you to listen to your body – more is not always better. Rehab is multifactorial – nutrition, sleep, rest/recovery, and self care along with consistent Neubie sessions are all essential.
Do I need a medical referral?
No.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Scheduling is easy and I offer convenient appointment times for you to meet the demands of your busy schedule. Call me today to request an appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance or failure to show up for your appointment will result in a charge of 50% of the scheduled appointment fee.
Is there anyone who should NOT receive NEUBIE treatments?
Yes. Anyone with a pacemaker or patients currently undergoing active cancer treatment. Patients who are in remission need to be cleared by their MD to use this device.
Is the NUEBIE the same as a tens unit or traditional e-stim devices?
No. Tens units use alternating current where the Neubie uses direct current. Our nervous system is designed like a direct current device so it’s providing your body with a familiar signal and stimulation to your muscles and nervous system.
Is there anything I need to know or do after a NEUBIE treatment?
Yes! The NEUBIE challenges your body by burning more calories and stressing the muscle tissues more than a traditional workout would. Therefore, it is important to cut yourself some slack and rest. Your body will require 24-48 hours to rebuild and replenish your energy levels. It is also important to drink water to flush your body from various toxins. Preferably you should drink 1 oz of water per pound of body weight on the day of your session and again the following day. Lastly, a diet consisting of proteins and nutrients will give your body the energy and cognitive functioning to keep your body at optimal performance for your next sessions.
How long will it take before I start to see gains?
The healing journey is different for everyone and no two individuals or disorders are similar. However, in recent studies over 90% noticed tangible progress after their first session by experiencing better range of motion, improvements in overall strength, or decreased pain. Remaining consistent is key. It’s important for you to listen to your body – more is not always better. Rehab is multifactorial – nutrition, sleep, rest/recovery, and self care along with consistent Neubie sessions are all essential in order to see gains.
